Venue: Main campus of MUST

Written Test (total 80 points) is supposed to be taken for 90 minutes and included the following tasks:

GRAMMAR and VOCABULARY /40 points/ contains tasks in English simple and perfect verb tenses, to and –ing verbs, comparisons (as…as), passive voice etc. Grammar and vocabulary tasks will be given in the form of multiple choices, filling in the missing words, and completing sentences. Also the multiple choice tasks from all possible vocabulary from the Touchstone IV textbook (units 1-6 from Student Book and Work book activities) are included in it. The tasks are on choosing correct item, matching synonyms and finding appropriate words and phrases to fill in sentences.
READING /10 points/ section will contain texts on general scientific and business topics with following questions on tasks of reading comprehension and main idea, find what is true about given statements according to the passage, find information which is not included in the text, choosing the best words to repeat the underlined idea, as well as choosing vocabulary in context.
- Please see attached 10 texts and you can print out these texts and work on them for the exam.
COMMUNICATION /20 points/ section will contain reading short conversations, completing and matching phrases from the conversation, choosing the best expressions according to the given situations, matching questions and answers.
WRITING /10 points/ tasks will be on how to write formal letters as a recommendation letter, a cover letter, writing a CV, and write an essay, a report and an abstract for papers.
