The project titled “Introducing Sustainable and Green Development Indicators into the Assessment of Mongolian Higher Education Institutions – GREEN FUTURE” (Sustainable and Resilience Indicators for Mongolian Universities Assessment), funded by the European Union’s ERASMUS+ CBHE Strand 3 Programme, has officially commenced.

The kick-off meeting of the project was hosted by the coordinating institution, Valencia Polytechnic University (Spain), and took place in Valencia, Spain, from 21 to 23 January 2026.
The meeting was attended by members of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST) project team, including Professor D. Ganbat and P. Tserenchimed, together with representatives from a total of 12 partner institutions participating in the project.

Project Objectives
The GREEN FUTURE project aims to develop and implement a comprehensive methodology and a set of assessment indicators to measure the contribution and impact of Mongolian higher education institutions toward the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Furthermore, the project seeks to support Mongolian universities in participating in and improving their positions in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings.
The project will be implemented during the period 2025–2028.
The UI GreenMetric Ranking is an international ranking system that evaluates universities based on their sustainability performance. It aims to raise environmental awareness within higher education institutions and promote the adoption and dissemination of sustainable practices and policies worldwide.
