English proficiency exam for master students at must

Venue: Main campus of MUST

Written Test (total 80 points) is supposed to be taken for 90 minutes and included the following tasks:

  1. GRAMMAR and VOCABULARY /30 points/ contains tasks in English simple and perfect verb tenses, to and –ing  verbs, comparisons (as…as), passive voice etc.  Grammar and vocabulary tasks will be given in the form of multiple choices, filling in the missing words, matching phrases, completing sentences. Also the multiple choice tasks from all possible vocabulary from the Touchstone IV textbook (units 1-6 from Student Book and Work book activities) are included in it.
  2. READING /15 points/ section will contain texts on general scientific topics with following questions on tasks of reading comprehension and main idea, true or false statements according to the passage, choosing the best words to repeat the underlined idea, as well as choosing vocabulary in context.
  3. COMMUNICATION /20 points/ section will contain reading short conversations, completing and matching phrases from the conversation, choosing the best expressions according to the given situations, matching questions and answers.
  4. WRITING /20 points/ tasks will be on how to write a formal letter, a recommendation letter, writing a CV, fill in application forms and answer job interview questions.
